Negative experience: We just finished a 3 week train tour of Japan. Japan was fabulous; the tour was not. This is our second tour with Adventures Abroad; we have also travelled with Intrepid, Gadventures, and Overseas Adventure Travels. We knew we would not have an overall guide from Japan, and we accepted that, even though we prefer a local overall guide. Our guide was good. The city guides were not so good. Poor English, thick accents, hard to understand what they are trying to impart to us. Our overall guide also had no detailed information or input on the food we were served, making many guests very uncomfortable. I wrote my review back to Adventures Abroad, complaining of our experience, but never heard back. I doubt we will ever travel with them again.

Fantastic experience: We’ve now travelled with Adventures Abroad several times on their multi-week, multi-country itineraries. They have and collection of trips to choose from, amazing trips and the customer service from the head office is second to none. The trip leaders are world class; calm, flexible and friendly. Their flight group? Incredibly helpful - going above and beyond to get you preferred routes on your airlines of choice and recently, moving mountains to get us home safely out of the Middle East. I highly recommend traveling with Adventures Abroad!!

Fantastic experience: I have traveled with Adventures Abroad on 10 trips, since 2007. They are a wonderful company. Excellent itineraries and experienced tour leaders and local Tour guides. I highly ecommend them!

Negative experience: Dealing with this company was one of the worst experiences of my life. It is clear that the company is only concerned with profit, and views customer safety as a secondary concern. Additionally, I never had a worst customer service experience in my life. AA should be embarrassed by the tone and demeanor of their staff. I am embarrassed to have originally chosen this company as my travel guides, and will never make that mistake again.

Fantastic experience: The Vietnam/ Cambodia 20-day tour was excellent. The guide was very knowledgeable. The hotels used were for the most part. Exceptional. Adventures abroad offers unique activities in addition to a wonderful itinerary

Fantastic experience: This review is just for the site, selection, and booking as we have booked two trips but not actually taken them yet. Our experience with them so far has been superb. All our questions were answered very promptly and all the documentation is easy to fill in and complete. All our questions have been answered by the same staff member who now knows us and almost anticipates our needs. We will review our trips later.

Fantastic experience: Having taken 5 trips with Adventures Abroad, my husband and I highly recommend them! We have traveled to some very “off the beaten path “ places and always felt our tour guides were outstanding and the itineraries exceeded our expectations!

Fantastic experience: We took a tour in India that was wonderful - Taj Mahal, Veranasi, countless beautiful palaces and museums. It was well curated, Alistair our tour leader was very good. Hihly recommend ONCE Covid19 is under control.

Fantastic experience: Recently returned home from an Over 50 Hiking the Greek Islands trip. I have to say, it was absolutely spectacular. Our Adventures Abroad guide, Sama, was the epitome of knowledge, class, and patience. I'm sure it's not easy guiding and herding 16 very different personalities and abilities through the rocky terrain and very chaotic ferry system in Greece, but she did it with ease. I cannot express how much respect I have for this young woman. The sights were incredible, the food magnificent (we ate like royalty), and the accommodations more than adequate. The local guides were charming and very knowledgeable. I have to emphasize, however, that this is not mall-walking. The terrain is mountainous; therefore, at times steep. Sooo many stairs! But no one was ever left behind, and there was always time to stop and take photos, smell the roses, and ask questions. In a word, it was magnificent. I will definitely be doing another Adventures Abroad tour. Worth every penny.
