Expérience négative: Long overdue: A few years ago we took their 21 day "Australian Safari" Tour. In spite of being on a bus that held 40 people even though we really would've preferred a small group tour, this could have been a nice tour. The problem was the tour guide. She was cute looking, very energetic and knowledgeable, able to handle problems with flights and such as they arose, however, she was a very nasty human being. From the get-go she made it clear she really didn't enjoy our "stupid" questions. We and others according to her asked the wrong questions at the wrong time. We got to a point where we simply stopped talking to her at all, which is what she seemed to want. Little by little she formed her own subgroup and would make fun of people she didn't like with her subgroup. We had never met a tour guide who rather than creating a cohesive and enjoyable time actively seemed to enjoy attacking people and isolating different people within the group. Did she pull the wool over the GLOBUS executives? I wrote to Global about this and they had nothing to say whatsoever and buried the review completely. They said the reviews we wrote were for internal use only. I have no idea if this same tour guide is still working for them. We would like to think that she was fired immediately, but I have no idea. We would never go on another Global trip... and we spend a lot of money traveling so don't want to take a second chance on another very disturbing and upsetting trip that we spent a great deal of money on. Imagine, 21 days with this very nasty human being. It just got worse and worse as the days went on. She actively encouraged her "chosen ones" to say nasty things about people. Amazing.
Expérience négative: My wife and took the Globus London tour The planned London tour was fine The hotel they provided (Park Plaza Westminster Bridge) was terrible. Had some problems with the hotel and when I returned back home, I got in touch with Globus customer service. They listened to the situation and were no help at all. When you spent almost $10,000, for a tour you expect support from your tour company. I will never use Globus again for the lack of support. I recommend you do not use Globus
Expérience négative: We booked a South Africa 20 day safari trip for 4 people for May 2026. Early Jan 2026 they cancelled the trip providing No Reason. Very disappointed with the amount of time and effort planning this bucket list tour just to be cancelled. We end up losing $2,000 in travel insurance and no fault of ours. Globus needs to be more accountable.
Expérience fantastique: Globus has wonderful Japan trip to Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Kyoto. The guide, Huri, was very knowledgeable and considerate. The hotels were all nice, provided great service, were centrally located, and served both Japanese and American breakfast dishes. The tour included two cooking classes and one art class. Overall, nine day trip was very enjoyable. Food is reasonably priced in Japan. Recommend this tour.
Expérience négative: Avoid Cosmos Tours, which is the budget level of Globus tours. Absolutely horrible. I recently completed the Paris, Normandy and Loire tour. It was nothing but regimented marching around. I had been told there were opportunities to stretch, take breaks, etc. Absolute bullshit. Terrible bus, seats were in permanent reclining position - good for six feet tall people - I am barely 5'3" tall. Hotels were very average. One was basically a youth hostel with a camp cot type bed. The worst time was the torrential rain at the American Cemetery. I already had a cold from the marching around to Notre Dame. I refused to get off the tour bus because I didn't want to get any sicker than I already was. I actually had to say to the tour director that she needed to have more concern for her passengers' health and well being than sticking to her schedule. This company needs to offer alternatives like Trolley trips through the various cities, which I ended up doing in two cities and guidance on how to rent drivers/cars, which I also did in one other city vs. staying on that awful bus. If you want to be marched around in a regimented fashion, then this is the tour for you. Seriously, it is cheap, and you get what you pay for. Spend a little more and be more comfortable and enjoy yourself.
Expérience négative: BEWARE, travelers! I recently took a trip to Australia with Globus and their employee (bus driver) damaged my luggage when putting it on the bus. I notified the travel guide, the travel agent and numerous other Globus employees, including the top three people in this company regarding the damage. I want Globus to reimburse me for my luggage, that's all. The customer care person lied to me and told me they were sending a check, of which never came. It's unacceptable to me that this multimillion dollar company refuses to reimburse me for the damage to my luggage. I will NEVER recommend Globus to anyone for travel again!
Expérience fantastique: Our Sunny Days and Starry Nights trip with Globus was simply spectacular. We travelled from one magical place to another. Our tour director was top notch and our driver was very skilled. The coach was very comfortable and the accommodations were great. I would highly recommend this adventurous trip.
Expérience négative: We were abandoned by this tour company when my travelling companion tested positive for covid half way through our organized trip.
Expérience fantastique: I travelled alone but met some wonderful people on our tour. The hotels were clean, staff were helpful, and our tour director, Enrique, was so much fun! Enrique had great street knowledge and also provided interesting details about local customs, foods, interpersonal communication tips and just down to earth ways to get along in our cities of exploration. It was 9 days filled with fun and facts and I will travel with Globus again!
Expérience négative: Our Globus Holiday From Hell In September of this year (2022), my wife and I set out for the Pacific Coast Adventure Tour with Globus Tours. We had a previous holiday cancelled due to the pandemic and had to use up our credits by the end of 2022 with no refund option. Prior to starting this trip, we became uneasy after the U.S. removed all travel restrictions previously in place due to the pandemic and news reports indicated an increase in Covid cases. What was especially concerning was the fact that only a proof of vaccination was required to get on the tour with no masking requirements. There was also no requirement for a negative Covid test prior to starting the trip. As is well known, anyone who contracts Covid, especially fully vaccinated, can have little or no symptoms and easily transmit it to others. First stop on the tour was to the Air & Space Museum in Seattle where it was extremely crowded with next to no masking. 2-3 days after this my wife developed a chronic cough that I felt to be very disconcerting. Although others on the coach were also coughing hers was more frequent. With the tour guide having previously offered everyone covid test kits if desired I decided the following morning before breakfast to test her. She showed positive so I contacted the guide who after calling head office was informed that we would be removed from the tour. With no direct communication from Globus, we were left totally abandoned and bewildered outside the hotel holding onto our luggage. This was a small town on the Pacific coast. We ended up taking a $450 taxi ride to an airport where we were able to get a flight back to Seattle. No sooner were we in a hotel room when I had a medical emergency from all the stress and ended up in the ER. It is now quite apparent to me that my wife probably contracted Covid at the museum or more likely from other passengers on the coach as we were only non-masked when we were eating with them. Globus gave no provision for someone to cancel at the last minute and get refunded if having Covid so there was no incentive to stay home if sick. With Globus Covid requirements only requiring vaccinations it is obvious that they expect that if anyone contracts Covid it should be less of a concern and like a bad cold (as it should be). At the time it did seem strange to me that all the coughing on the coach was ignored but now I understand. The tour guide did say to me that she was surprised my wife got Covid since we were always wearing a mask. Surprise, Surprise. Having never had Covid before, she had no idea how it would affect her. I later also tested positive but probably like most others on the coach only had slight symptoms. Globus also has not had the courtesy to reply to our emails since arriving home. This review is not about getting Covid but how we were treated by Globus. Other operators have arranged quarantine etc. for their guests and not put them to the curb like Globus. So, anyone still not comfortable travelling and not been able to get a refund, consider yourself lucky.
Expérience négative: COVID Related Risk - Globus has a policy that creates an incentive for high risk sick people to travel in its groups. We had booked a tour and then after we paid in full we had a high risk Covid exposure and got medical advice that we were at high risk of getting sick. We have 4 vaccinations but of course did not want to get on a bus with others and we did not want to risk being in a foreign country and getting sick. We wanted to transfer our trip to another tour and were refused and had to cancel losing 30% of our money. My husband is was going to turn 80 on the trip and the 30% was hard earned money.
Expérience fantastique: The site works well and the trips are just what I was looking for.
Expérience fantastique: My family and I just returned from the Egyptian Escape with Nile Cruise trip. This vacation was beyond amazing. Our guide, Shereen, was outstanding! She shared her 30+ years of knowledge with us, answered all our questions, helped us navigate the markets and made sure we didn't over pay. I really cannot say enough about how she made this trip everything it was. Be aware that is trip is physically demanding. According to my fitbit I walked 5-8 miles each day and due to the early wake up calls to beat the heat and crowds and late dinner& entertainment we slept about 6 hours/night.
Expérience négative: We just went on a Globus trip to England. Overall the trip was good . But the food offered in the included meals was atrocious. Also our tour guide compared to the ones that we’ve had in the past was not great. A couple of the hotels were subpar and overall it was a bit of a disappointment compared to our trips to Italy and Spain in the past. The biggest problem that I have here is that this trip was booked due to a cancellation from another trip we had booked with Globus . even though they canceled the trip and we moved our credit over to this new trip we have a balance that they will not return to us even though it is our money and we paid in full. And even worse is the credit that we have left will expire in a year which is ridiculous because it was our money that we already paid into globus. This is making it so we will likely never travel with them again.
Expérience fantastique: I’m leaving a review for the Scottish Highlands Escape. I just wanted to say that the entire experience was magnificent. Our tour guide Marge was knowledgeable, funny and everything you would want in a guide. I would also like to give a special mention to our Driver Vincent who was not only an exceptional driver but person. This was my first trip with Globus and I would highly recommend them and this particular tour. Looking forward to many more adventures ahead. Cheers!
Expérience fantastique: Friends traveled with Globus Travel and we're very happy with their trip so we are going out west to visit National parks.
